According to
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2 million tons of
e-waste end up in landfills each year, while only about
380,000 tons are recycled. By recycling old electronics
products, useful materials ~ such as glass, plastic and
metals ~ can be collected and re-used in the manufacture of
other products.
The CMSA and its
members are committed to environmental stewardship by providing
consumers with easy access to drop-off facilities so they can
recycle their old electronics items. To encourage consumers to
recycle electronic devices in an environmentally sound manner, the
CMSA is asking the California moving public and
our members to take action and recycle their old electronics by
dropping of their old electronics items at one of our
participating member's facilities.
Many of our members provide drop-off locations at no cost to the
moving public. To locate a drop-off location near you, contact the
CMSA at
(562) 865-2900 or (800) 672-1415.
