Keynote Speaker ~ "Antarctic
Mike" Pierce
Mike Pierce is a dedicated athlete and
enthusiast of the Antarctic Region. He has been to the Antarctic
several times and participated in a number of athletic events.
Antarctic Mike became one of 12 people to be involved in a
26.2-mile marathon on the oversized glacier in 2006. His
achievements have earned him TV spots on popular networks such
as CNN, FOX, ABC, ESPN, and others.
Antarctic Mike is also a professional speaker
and sales trainer who has helped companies focus on customer
relations in selling as well as employee-employer relationships.
He has used his achievements on the Antarctic continent and in
the business realm in creating inspirational presentations for
company decision makers to apply basic business principles in
the workplace.

2010-11 Chairman Brian Larson of Mother Lode Van & Storage and
CMSA President Steve Weitekamp will provide current information
on 2010 activities and what direction the Association is heading
in 2011.

Interstate Business ~ Linda
Bauer Darr, President and CEO of American Moving and Storage
Association (AMSA), will address convention attendees on
interstate moving affairs, and current challenges and changes.
Linda has more than 20 years of experience in
transportation policy, association management and government
relations. Her experience includes senior positions with the
American Trucking Association and the American Bar Association,
as well as serving during the Clinton Administration at the U.S.
Department of Transportation.

Edger
CARB Truck and Trailer Rules
~ Sean Edgar, Executive Director of CleanFleets.net, is a
respected expert at the California Air Resource Board, and has
participated in major on- and off-road rulemaking over the
years. He is an established consultant regarding on-road fleet
rule implementation and technology options for many CMSA
members.

Speaker ~ Senator
Jean Fuller
Legislative Presentation ~
Senator Jean Fuller was elected to represent the 32nd Assembly
District in 2006 and elected to the Senate in 2010 for the 18th
District. Senator Fuller’s top legislative priority this year is
reducing regulations that burden California’s businesses that
prevent them from hiring, or rehiring, workers. She believes
that putting more people to work and solving each Californian’s
personal budget crisis is the key to California’s economic
rebound.
As Vice Chair of the Energy, Utilities and
Communications Committee, Senator Fuller will focus on policy
relating to our energy resources and emerging technologies. She
will also continue her focus on our natural resources and the
area of water policy.
As a member of the Budget and Fiscal
Oversight Committee, she will work to ensure the Legislature
reduces unnecessary state expenses and guarantees tax-funded
services are both needed and carried out in the most
cost-effective way.

Speaker ~ Terry Head
International Business ~ Terry Head, President of the International
Association of Movers (IAM), will be addressing CMSA members
about current industry issues from a global perspective.
The IAM represents over 1,800 companies
operating as movers, forwarders, and other service providers in
over 160 countries around the world. Terry Head represents the
international moving industry in various conferences held around
the world, and testifies on behalf of his industry for United
States Congress and other federal agencies.

Technology - Social Marketing Discussion
New this year at the convention, there will
be presentations on how to successfully advertise moving
services on the Web.
Jay Casey of Casey Moving
Systems has extensive background in social marketing for his
company and will review with delegates how to generate buzz
through Facebook advertising.
Allan Browning, COO of
Vision Quest, will present an informative discussion on Search
Engine Optimization and how to enhance your company website to
gain visibility in search engine results.
Joe Tietelman, from Yodle,
will discuss local Internet advertising strategies.
