- August 2026 Chairwomans CornerI live in what my family jokingly calls the Republic of Davis, California, where summer temperatures regularly reach 107 degrees. And yet, without fail, at least once a week one of my two children asks for chicken soup. Our version starts with fresh ginger, garlic, green cardamom, onion, cilantro, oregano, carrots, celery, and, of course, chicken. Depending on the day, they’ll ask for ramen, udon, or traditional pasta noodles. They’ve had chicken soup in restaurants. They’ve had it at friends’ homes. - August 2026 President’s ColumnAugust has arrived, and with the heat and upswing in moving activity, the familiar energy of an Association is gearing up for a busy fall. Our chapter and board meetings are on the horizon, and the work we do this month sets the tone for everything that follows. Mid-month, our chapter leadership will gather to review meeting protocol and best practices. I always look forward to this meeting.
